LARRY
ARNO
Born
in Brooklyn, Larry has lived in the Hudson Valley since 1962. After
graduation from the State University at New Paltz he was a Probation
Officer at the Ulster County Probation Department for a year and a
half.
In 1969 he started teaching secondary social studies in the Hyde Park
Schools. Because he enjoyed the outdoors, he encouraged his students
to form an outing club so they could hike and climb in the Catskills
and surrounding mountains. During many of his teaching years he ran
Wilderness Bound, an outdoor adventure travel camp for teenagers. He
sent youngsters 14-18 across the country and as far as Nepal and Canada
on adventure trips during the summer.
In the late 80s Larry moved from New Paltz to Rhinebeck where he got
involved in real estate. He renovated two homes and built a spec-house.
After leaving teaching he traveled throughout the world, then returned
to Dutchess County where he settled in the town of Clinton. At that
time he helped out in New York at his wifes family real estate
business. As he has always been interested in preserving the fine quality
of life that exists in this area he served as a member of the Clinton
Town, Zoning Board of Appeals.
Before coming to Cautela Realty he set up and ran a company that did
research and development in various fields. In his spare time, Larry
likes to hike, ski and sail.
Now he is devoting his time to real estate and is happy to help people
find the home of their dreams.
